Jessica Anderson's Professional Journey
Jessica Rae Anderson is a fashion trade industry designer and manufacturing expert and the founder of Design to Produce. Her consulting firm takes aspiring designers’ creative ideas and turns them into actual manufactured products so they can effectively start their fashion businesses. She does so by helping them design, sketch, create technical packets, pattern-making and prototype samples. She specializes in production of womens, kids and mens apparel in all categories, as well as bags, belts, pet accessories and jewelry.
Her services give entrepreneurs the opportunity to test their concept and produce with Design to Produce's manufacturing partners. Essentially, she manages the whole process from start to finish.
Her clientele include; entrepreneurs, fashion lines, vendors, suppliers, designers, made in USA government apparel and fashion brands. Services cover fashion collection design, custom uniform design, supplier sourcing, product development, production management, private label design, fashion merchandising and fashion manufacturing. Jessica currently overseas small production apparel manufacturing in China and garment manufacturing in the USA.
Jessica left the corporate fashion world and moved to Miami from NY in 2009. At the time she had a lot of aspiring designers coming to her that wanted help getting their fashion collections design and produced, which is what inspired her to start a fashion design and manufacturing consulting business in Nov of 2011. Since then, she has launched hundreds of independent fashion lines for entrepreneurs. Jessica says “Often by the time they hire me, they have had a rough start maneuvering the industry due to lack of expertise and knowledge.”
What gives Jessica her edge is that she, unlike most industry designers has designed and produced for multiple categories including: accessories, swimwear, childrenswear, baby apparel, menswear, activewear, streetwear, womens dresses, business attire, uniforms and intimate apparel. Jessi
ca is also a gifted technical designer which enables her to effectively translate a clients vision and specs to her manufacturers which ensures the quality, fit and craftsmanship is on point. (see resume here)
Her career in the industry spans over two decades. After earning a degree in fashion design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California, she moved to NY where she got hands-on experience. In NY, Jessica led design teams at top fashion houses such as Liz Claiborne, Victoria’s Secret, Jones Apparel Group and ABS by Allen Schwartz.
Her brilliant designs have been featured in WWD, In Style Magazine, People, Lucky and Accessories Magazine. In addition, Jessica appeared on NBC and QVC to sell her accessory designs for the Sigrid Olsen brand, among others. In 2009, she introduced www.jessicaraeanderson.com a lifestyle styling company and has since styled; her fashion clients editorial photo shoots, commercials, videos, emerging talent, high-profile clients, TV personalities and famous musicians.
In 2020, Jessica, known as, the fashion muse, launched her first Youtube fashion channel.
